Eh, tbh, that ain’t me. If I know it’s never going to happen, I’m not interested. If I know it could happen, and I’m in a situation where it’s ethical, I have a decent history of letting it happen as long as it isn’t going to mess something up, or be a one time only thing.
That being said, there have been times where it wouldn’t have been ethical, so it didn’t. I’m married now, and I have this thing when I’m monogamous that my brain just ignores anyone else as a sexual partner, so it’s all past tense.
The most memorable time was the daughter of a patient that was also the person in charge of their arrangements. Ethically, you’re not supposed to diddle family at all, but everyone knows it’s going to happen eventually, so most companies that I worked for had policies in place about who you could and couldn’t get together with while still being on a case.
I was in my twenties, she was in her forties. She wasn’t some kind of crazy gorgeous milfy sort, though she was definitely attractive. Very much so. Just not in that Hollywood or porn way. There was heat from the first time we met too, so it wasn’t like it was a one sided thing.
But, her dad was a big dude. Had been a mason his whole life, so the man was still a brick wall in his late seventies. Over six foot, about 245. They had trouble getting and keeping caregivers because of that. Back then, male caregivers were very rare, so it wasn’t like I could just quit the case and see what happened. There wasn’t anyone else at the company that could have done the job, and that was more important than me and her letting that heat burn. Just wouldn’t have been right.
But it could have happened. If I’d chosen to ignore ethics, and she had not cared about her dad having someone that could take care of him right, it would have been a thing for sure. As it was, we ended up flirting and wishing we could lol. But we left it at that.
However, many was the time I’d end up having some rather potent dreams about her.
By the time the case ended, she had gotten involved with someone, so I wasn’t going to try, and it was years before we ran across each other again. By that time, we were both involved, and that was that.
