Dismissing other rights isn’t the way to go though. It’s not a zero sum thing, giving up guns doesn’t get you other rights.

giving up guns doesn’t get you other rights.

Except for the rights of a shitload of people to LIVE…

To the shock of absolutely nobody approaching the matter rationally, it turns out that flooding a country with legally obtainable death tools with little to no safety regulations leads to an overabundance of murders and accidental deaths involving said tools.

there are a lot of rules and regulations regarding buying guns… definitely not effective enough, but not “little to no” regulations….

and i know you’ll hate me for saying this buuuut: 3D printing gun technology has advanced a lot in recent years.
a motivated killer will definitely be able to make one for a few hundred bucks.
we could definitely do a lot more with kids getting access to their parents guns, but it’s a cultural problem that makes americans shoot each other.
btw, the sandy hook shooter killed his mom in her sleep and took the keys to her gun safe…

True, but banning said tools doesn’t end the problem.

I’m not a 2A nut. I do have guns, but they’re locked up on my mom’s farm so I can target shoot for fun. I think gun control needs to happen, but legislation alone won’t fix the issue.
