I’m going to be traveling to Chicago later this year. We chose the railway instead of the air. Things like this reinforce exactly why I made that decision.
If you believe this article, commercial airlines are much much safer than passenger rail. There was another article that I don’t feel like citing that suggested that, in the US, trains didn’t even have a carbon advantage.
Listen homie. My car has over 200k miles on it and I don’t want to take it halfway across the country and back. Renting a car seems wasteful in lots of ways, Boeing engineers don’t even trust their own planes enough to recommend flying on them, I’m grasping for straws here. Lie to me. The train is gonna be awesome, and we’re gonna see the parts of America most people miss!

Yeah there’s never been a rail accident in the US.
To be fair, rail accidents on passenger trains tend to be less deadly.
Pipe down over there! I have to get there somehow and I’d like my sanity intact, thank you very much
Haha sorry.

And for sure y’all will be more comfortable to boot. Trains are awesome. Enjoy your trip!
Yeah but that doesn’t account for all the stuff that’s been going on lately
