Us isolationism would solve nearly every single problem in the world though. Broken clocks and all that.

Us isolationism would solve change nearly every single problem in the world, and create many more though. Broken clocks and all that.

Nope, the US is behind most global issues. The massive interference they do, daily, to the global South has hampered growth and democracy across the world.

It has been the single most evil force in world history. More colonial than the UK, more slaves than the entirety of Europe combined, and more imperial military outposts than peak roman empire. And that’s without mention the tens of thousands of assassinations and regime changes.

I mean it got so bad the US invented its own enemies wholesale like the current Iranian regime and the taliban.

The only appropriate response to such a pants on head stupid response. I’ll bet the response thinks this is a defense of US policy.

Already blocked him before I got to this gem. What a mental giant.

And either he’s a bot, writing to a script, or he’s created a new sock puppet to spout the same garbage, because I’m getting bigly deja vu from this dreck.

Not really. On the otherside of every us intervention is Russia or China. The us pulling back means the free world loses influence and control and these strategically important regions fall under the control of authoritarian adversary.

That’s really not the case, and no, the US is not the’ free world’

Every US citizen has fewer and less rights than you do, assuming you’re in nz. They also have more prisoners per capita than every single authoritarian regime in history, including Nazi Germany during its peak Holocaust era. It’s not a free country, it’s authoritarian at its core.

Imagine defending the country that has invaded more countries than any other country currently on earth.

Hopefully none of the above, besides your current pm you guys seem to be on an okay track. You’re already decades ahead of the US in most development stats and you couldn’t be more opposed to us ideology.

NZ is an ally of the united states and Europe. We are strongly against Russia and softly against China. Also your cherrypicked irrelevant stat of per captia prison population isnt even correct. United states does not have more prisoners than every authoritarian regime in history.

It actually does. But don’t worry, pick any stat you associate with freedom. The US will rank below 40 compared to other nations, it will rank below 100 in many categories.

Nz being an ally of the US is a hold over from your imperialist colonialist past, nothing more. You’ve advanced beyond the US, as have a lot of nations. The only thing the US has over you is GDP, a stat not useful for much according to the inventor of GDP, and military spending.

Given what it uses that spending for I get why you’d be scared, being an island nation in the Pacific and all; but realistically they’re not competent enough to invade you anymore. I mean they’ve lost every war they started since WWII.

Ok I can pick any stat? I pick the stat which I think is why western countries are in an alliance and thats democracy. Looking at this stat the US is up near the top and Russia and China are way down. Shocked. (This data was from 2016)

Now with trump in power I’m less inclined to want to be in an alliance with the united states but I still expect and believe its good for “western powers”(meaning western democracy) to oppose non western powers whereever we can.

You see foreign intervention as west bad but its far more complex. On each side of the conflict is a great power so its not as simple as saying if America pulls out everything will be OK.
