The whole pedo/groomer thing isn’t new, it’s that trans people are being hit with it currently because they’re the spook specter. They’re the fear factor to make all the good little Christians and conservatives rally.
It’s the same empty blather that was thrown at gay men in specific, and anyone in the LGB community, back before the T was common in general awareness, and definitely before trans rights as an issue came into the forefront.
Hate and fear are the tools of people seeking power because a scared populace will run to their shelter, and a hate filled populace can be weaponized.
That line about trans rights being human rights, it isn’t just a slogan. It’s the battlefield we’re all facing.
What’s absurd is that most of them don’t even believe it, as in most of the far right leadership. They definitely see trans people as aberrations to be eliminated, but that’s applicable to gays, commies, blacks, and anyone else that isn’t part of their arbitrary in group. But they parrot the bullshit about bathroom danger so that the rank and file will parrot it and nice believe it.
It’s a war of words as much as a war of violence.
If trans people didn’t exist, it would be someone else, but damn do the trans folks make such a convenient target. A minority, one that’s vastly different from the ground in concepts that make up the christo-normative, christo-fascist way of thinking. The lack of familiarity makes it so much easier to make up whatever the hell they want and point the pitchfork.
I’ve seen this same shit spread on multiple groups just in my fifty years. It’s absurd that they keep doing it, and even more so that the followers don’t even have to pretend to dinner forget that it’s the same tripe served with a new label
