A new reactor at a nuclear power plant in Georgia has entered commercial operation. Georgia Power Co. announced Monday that Unit 3 at Plant Vogtle, southeast of Augusta, has completed testing and is now sending power to the grid reliably.
I hope it wasn’t too over budget or behind schedule. That’s what oftentimes deters nuclear more than nuclear scare or cost. But it’s always good to hear we’re getting more nuclear since we don’t have anywhere near enough storage yet and we really need to turn off coal and gas.
