I’ve been meditation almost daily for 15-20 minutes the last 1.5 months. I enjoy the pratice, and it is nice and relaxing, however I find the changes, if any, to be very subtle (to the point that they might as well be placebo).
Curious to hear your experiences.
It isn’t a sudden, sharp thing. It is subtle, and it’s a long term benefit more than an immediate one.
The goal of it is to eventually be able to carry the relaxation with you all the time, and to be able to return to it with ease when it’s disturbed. This gives you the ability to go through life consciously, rather than as a series of responses to stimuli that happen faster than you can regulate.
It isn’t perfect, even the super dedicated monks face times where that state slips away, or is ripped away. But, on average, you’ll find long term balance, and that’s what matters.
