Like, disable fast travel, fine, but at least me look at the map if I want to. You’re already kicked out of menus and the map if you’re attacked whilst perusing either. No reason to outright lock you out of it.

Sure, BOTW is an entirely different game, but it even let’s you fast travel during combat, let alone look at the map. Don’t have to go to such extremes - though why not, unless you’re a purist - but restricting access to the map is just kinda silly
