Hi all!
So, I gave my old work laptop too my nephew, who loves to play Minecraft.
I set it up with Linux and everything was running perfectly fine.
But now he came to me and said, that his account got deleted or/and all his things are gone.
Because of troubles in my personal life, I didn’t had the time to look into it myself, but I just wanted to ask here, if there is maybe a known issue with playing on Linux, as I know, that some games block Linux, because of some anti cheats aren’t working on Linux, as those anti cheats modules aren’t allowed to run in kernel space, as they would like to.
I’d be really thankful for any help here, as my poor nephew is pretty devastated, because of all the time he spent building in the game and it seems, that everything is lost…
Thanks!
Edit: because the question came up: It’s the standard Java edition
Nothing you’ve said leads me to believe its a Microsoft account ban, but if it is, it’d be because of Microsoft’s chat moderation - nothing to do with account or game setup. Microsoft has a chat moderation system that is enabled by default. Its possible, albiet very unlikely, he was banned due to something like saying something controversial, automated mass reports, or falsified reports.
That said, if he’s a smart and friendly kid as it sounds like you’re saying, its most likely a server ban - IE he got banned from the specific multiplayer server he had been playing on. In this case, you’d have to find the website for that server (if there is one) and try to appeal the ban, or just switch to another server or a single player world. I’d guess that he unintentionally damaged another player’s work, and that’s why he got banned. Its an easy mistake to make for an inexperienced player.
Ah, and yes, as he told me, that he can still play, but lost everything on his main server, it’s very probably not a Microsoft account thing
I’ll talk with him again and send the server owner a mail, if possible, and ask for some resolution or at least some clarification, if he really did something wrong
Alright, thank you very much!
