Hey all. One of my hobbies is designing and 3d printing simple plant pots. I usually give the first one to my elderly neighbor because she got me into the idea years ago.
Anyone have an idea or a need for a planter I can try to design? I generally like more minimalist themes.
Throwing a few random ones out there-
One that looks like a city building, so the plants would look like it had a rooftop garden
A spider with the legs as the stand and the body holding a pot (or the body could be a pot that looks like a spider)
Similarly, a whale with plant area where the blowhole is, so the plant is like the water spraying out
Tetris blocks that connect but each have plant holders in them in thr top or on small shelves in the front.
Hope this gets creative juices flowing. Please share what you end up making!
Omg… Thank you. Going to think about which one my limited skills might be able to do.
Happy to help! It made me wish I had a 3d printer at home to try them too :)
Ok, I spent the morning working on a spider planter because I need to split my spider plant into more pots. I just started the print, so we’ll see how it goes. I did some interesting things with this guy that I haven’t done before (that make it harder to print) but I think it’s going to be awesome!
I wanted to do black and purple but my black spool was too low, so I am doing Brown and Green instead. I’ll post pictures assuming it doesn’t mess up during print.
That’s awesome! It still blows my mind how quickly you 3d printer people cam whip something up. Fingers crossed for the print !
I made the first one super small, only big enough for a starter but I think I’m going to make the second one much bigger. The legs are pretty fragile.
I made it so it stands on its own legs! He hovers over the tray!
I love it! Can’t believe you got this done in a day. Well done!
Thanks for the ideas. I’ll probably spend some time over this week making some refinements and enlarging it. I’d be happy to send you one when it’s all done. Just let me know. I think I might put the .STL on printables when it’s better.
