        Wow! That’s insane (and really highlights how far my local indigenous people have come, the Maōri people)… What a gross monument

          Yeah, its a really gross monument to oppression and genocide. It’s tough though, I don’t know how I’d feel about it’s removal, it would be even more damage to those mountains. Wouldn’t be opposed to some cheeky graffiti on it though.

                It was meant as a comparison between two countries approach to their treatment of indigenous peoples, silly.

                One attempts to pay lip service (NZ), while the other (US) still heavily white washes things

      As an American, nobody would question Washington, Jefferson, or Lincoln’s presence, but Teddy Roosevelt would be the odd man out. He did a lot of great things for the country as well, but he’s decidedly less famous than the others.
