The UK government is revising the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (IPA). The proposed changes could allow the government to block security updates, force removal of encryption, and require companies to comply with requests that are outside of the UK’s jurisdiction.

      Realistically, that might be exactly what happens if these imbecilic politicians (but I repeat myself) don’t change course on these regulations. The restrictions they’re proposing would have categorically unacceptable implications across the entire world that would likely damage their business elsewhere, and Apple would be 100% justified and correct if they simply said “we must refuse to operate in a market with these absurd restrictions”.
