Alien/Aliens is a given for most people. I have been watching Event Horizon during the spooky season for years. What are some of your favorite books and movies with a horror/psychological thriller lean?

    That book is the death of comfort. And it’s the only text I’ve read with cinematography.

      I want to read it again. I feel like the only other author who gives me that particular sense of creeping dread is Lovecraft, but the language and setting of house of leaves is contemporary enough that I can’t easily distance myself from it. The world lovecraft sets up is so linguistically and tonally removed from my own, whereas the family in house of leaves might live across the street.
