Me: it’s on my ex server, gimme your email and I’ll invite you

Them: nah, I’ll just wait for it to come to Netflix/Disney.

I have this happen a lot. Friends that back in school were the first to pirate and share new music, games and videos now all refuse to do so, even indirectly. They really want to watch show X, but moan and complain about it being only available on service Y, which they don’t have and don’t want to or can’t afford. I offer to add the show on my Sickchill and provide them access to my Jellyfin, but they just don’t want to. And I never really get a clear reason out of them. After a couple of such refusals I have a hard time taking their continued complaints seriously. 🤷

Even more obnoxious is that one friend that complains about ads but won’t install an ad blocker no matter how many times you message him the direct link to one.

Meh, it’s a bit new and refreshing coming from reddit. Apparently you’re insta-banned if you talk piracy. Nice to say it out loud.

And while we’re at it, I find all the bitching and moaning about video services to be really strange. Of course they’re eventually going to fuck you over and HDDs are stupid cheap, even in a RAID array. 🤷🏻‍♂️
