    I had no idea that was “The Picard Maneuver”. I always assumed it was something like a bad ass evasive spaceship maneuver like in Top Gun where Mavericks like “we’re gonna hit the brakes and they’ll fly right by.”

      There’s the in-universe Picard Maneuver, which is actually an attack maneuver he used against the Ferengi when he was the captain of the Stargazer (TNG: The Battle). But this video shows the most used, most seen-on-screen Picard Maneuver.

      The “Picard Maneuver”, (TNG, Season

      Spoiler

      1, Episode 9

      )

      Spoiler

      is a short warp jump that causes the enemy vessel’s light-speed limited sensors to detect your ship in 2 positions at once.

      However Picard tucking his shirt away like that also got the nickname “Picard Maneuver”, because funny ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      Edit: Sry, I am to dumb to use spoiler correctly

      There also exists the Riker Manoeuvre, which refers to the way Riker sits in a chair by stepping over the back side.
