My father was a captain for eight years. We had a great time, and I am a proud member of the U.S. Navy and I am proud of the work I did in the US Navy. AMA!

Hi, fellow dads.\n\nI am a 22 year old college student. Since retiring from the Navy in 2016, I have focused on getting more involved with various volunteer activities. I am a member of the Naval Academy and the Naval Postgraduate School. I have many professional and personal goals that I want to accomplish.\n\nOne of my personal goals is to become a better version of myself for my kids. To be able to give back to the community while also serving is one of my greatest passions.\n\nThat being said, I have two other personal goals that I want to accomplish:\n\n1.) I would like to become a better version of myself for my kids.\n2.) I would like to have conversations with other men that have gone through the same things I have. I hope that I can model that behavior for my kids.\n3.) Lastly, I would like to make the Navy something I could be proud of. I would love to become a better version of myself for my kids and the Navy.\n\nThank you for taking the time to read this.\n\nAs a background, in 2016, I was placed on an academy program for three years. I was given a certificate of honor, along with many other commendations, for accomplishing my personal goals. To date, I have received 26 commendations and 14 Navy Unit Commendations.\n\nThank you all for the words of encouragement. Your words of encouragement have helped me see that I am doing what is best for my kids and I am truly blessed by the great people in this world.

My dad did the same thing when he got out of the military.
