Go to bed and wake up earlier and give yourself some recreation time first time in the morning. That way, you aren’t going to sleep in order to work afterwards: you’re going to sleep so that you can enjoy the rest of your free time better rested. This is much easier said than done, of course, but I have a better rest when I can fit this routine into my schedule.

If you are a dev and you dont earn enough, I suspect you have quite a number of options still.

          A-fucking-men.

Blue collar factory schmuck here: Look at me, I’m the Captian worthless one now.

I’d figuratively kill for some options lol

I was a bit scared to write this here, but Im not scared telling you: Devs crying because of capitalist society and walls closing in is just laughable. The fuck are they talking about. They earn 2x as much as me, maybe 3x. In the same company I work at.

No that’s just how bad our system is that even this dev is saying if one of them stops working they’ll be homeless. And the tech job market right now is the worst it’s been since 2008, he may not have many options in reality.

Devs are still workers like everyone else even though a lot of them think they’re above it all.

I am a Junior sysadmin. They literally earn twice as much as me. They got atleast my pay amounts of free money to spend as I do survive on this amount. If I had that much money, I would feel very cozy.

I dont actually believe they are that bad off.

Most aren’t bad off, but this guy is not your usual situation. The point is that a little bad luck can fuck over anyone other than the rich

I’m still not convinced. Xd Why go to the Netherlands with astronomical rent and cost of everyday conduct when you are a freelancer? Why even rent, dont you have a family house where you could safely earn the money you need?

Really is easier said than done - if someone already gets up at 05-06:00 in the morning they haven’t got much room to get up earlier.

You can get up at 3AM if you want. Depends on what your recreation is.

True, but if you wanted to get a decent amount of sleep you’d have to go to bed at like 20:00, which gives you the reverse problem.

For me, if I had the self control, it might work out, since I’m always pushing my sleep schedule back just like the meme. I’d have a much more concrete time for when I had to leave for work, or whatever appointments I may have instead of a nebulous “a decent time for good sleep”. Everybody’s different.

In a way, you could argue having a hard out is better for self-control, but either way it’s always going to feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to let loose

It takes me like 2 hours to become fully functional after I wake up. Even on days off when I can sleep in. I’d rather get paid for that wake up period than have it during my free time I can’t fully enjoy
