It’s kind of interesting seeing this from East-Asian point of view where we already wear school uniforms all the way up to high school. During uni we even sometimes joke about how nice it is not having to think about what to wear to school every day lol.
As the article pointed out, and also from my perspective, school uniforms don’t really reduce bullying that much. They still happen here. If the reason for pushing for uniforms is inequality, there are so many other ways to tell other than clothing such as what phone you carry, what your parents do for a living, etc. Kids are smart, and they will figure it out with or without uniforms.
All in all, I feel indifferent about wearing uniforms. It’s not the greatest thing ever, but it’s not the worst thing to do either.
