Accurate. Also, people who call trump a Cheeto look equally stupid. It’s not like there isn’t a lot to attack there without hyper focusing on his skin color. Discourse in this country has gotten really childish the last few years.

I get that. It’s always a little cringe-y when someone uses a (poor) play on words like Sleepy Joe or Donald Dump. It just feels like playground level insults and extremely immature, though probably pretty on par when it comes to politics. I also feel like the right does this more, or at least more publicly then the left, however that could also just be because of my preference for social media. E.g. Lemmy.

In my experience the liberals keep it on the internet. I don’t see any stores selling anti-trump merch, or pickup trucks with gigantic “FUCK ORANGE MAN” flags flying on them. It’s still really childish and cringy regardless of the medium though.

I suppose you could couple that with the genuine fear of displaying merch like that. I know it exists but where I live, I would be surprised if my property wasn’t vandalized or possibly even fired upon if I displayed such material. Hell, even just a Vote Biden sign would likely receive the same treatment.

My uncle spent $400 on a security camera setup when someone stole his trump sign back in 19. I was like is it really that I portant to you that passers by know who you’re voting for? He didn’t have an answer lol
