    I mean, it’s not shutting them down, but it is absolutely hurting revenue. Looking at the latest stats for posting and comments, they have rebounded a fair bit from the low point, but they are still about 10% lower than pre-AMA Reddit. That may not sound like much, but since their revenue is largely due to ads, this definitely has an impact. By estimate, the protests have lost reddit about $500,000 so far. That may be a drop in the bucket, but if it stretches on for weeks, they may simply decide it’s worth it to bargain. The API is definitely not going to stay free, but if they could work out a deal that a) gives developers time to transition to a new pricing model, and b) is more reasonable in cost, that would be great.
