It should be noted these were issued to rear echelon non combat troops.

Thanks, one of the things I’m trying to do with this community is orientate it around learning. I think there’s an important lesson here about implementing palliative solutions, even if the backdrop is bleak.
If I was one of those soldiers I certainly wouldn’t feel any happier just by having my old g3 swapped for one of these.

Looks like it. Personally I’m surprised they didn’t put a flat piece of sheet metal on the other side. I wouldn’t have thought they’d care for the left-handed.
Dude looks fuckin’ miserable. A flat sheet of metal might interfere with the tip of a trigger finger? I suppose it could be scalloped to avoid that.

It looks impressively stupid. Being reminded of these statistics every time you hold a gun does help the ideation, sure. At least, some manufacturer got a contract to fit these finger guards.
