I don’t see any mention of Rick Perry in this article for some reason. Also note how the gas tax isn’t a percentage of the price per gallon, but a flat amount that hasn’t been adjusted for inflation since the 1990s.

    For once I can actually speak with some level of knowledge. The only way you can change this circumstance is to push for an increase in the gas tax. These roads solely exist because demand has outpaced supply of lane miles and stupid ass lawmakers in Austin and DC won’t raise the gas tax even though IT WAS ENACTED TO PAY FOR FUCKING ROADS. Sorry. I get mad at this. They would rather not create an intelligent discussion on how taxes pay for things and instead focus on their all too important reelection approach.

    Roads are expensive.
