If you ever wanted an idea for how stupid Modi and his fascists are, consider – people really aren’t talking that much about India right now, given all the events going on around the world. This means their genocidal treatment of Indian Muslims hasn’t been put on blast nearly as much as it should have been.

Trying to discredit critics is going to put an even bigger spotlight on them after the Canada assassination – and how do you think the Western Left is going to react to stories about India tearing down Muslims’ homes, treating them as second class citizens (only Muslims have to show they have Indian heritage), and having politicians suggest exterminating them?

Israel enjoys undeserved status from the West that prevents retaliatory action for their genocide of Palestinians. India does not.

Not just muslims really, any minority is group is uh, lets say not very happy, visit some neutral Indian news sources or the r/india subreddit, the amount of rape cases and even lowers caste hindus being beaten up is insane, no one is happy except the upper caste and the wealthy.

But ofc as long as they continue dividing people on the basis of religion (which is why politicians speak exclusively about religion and the ‘other country’ at the time of elections), they are gonna get the majority voting for them.

Also a problem is that the opposition doesn’t seem very good either, it’s just a choice of choosing the lesser of the two evils

I was rather surprised to learn the caste system, or at least social hierarchy based on the system, still existed today. I was born in the US but my parents immigrated from India, and there wasn’t much attention given to caste as all the kids my age grew up. Granted we also don’t visit often, so I don’t have a ton of exposure, but I had assumed it was like here.
