    Principle

If you say you’re against punching people in the face you can’t punch someone to stop them

    I guess, who knows

If you are against violence and refuse to use it, sooner or later someone will use violence against you, and you will lose because you refuse to fight back.

What is your principle worth when you’ve been beaten to a bloody pulp?

This is what the paradox of tolerance addresses.

What? If there’s someone walking around punching a bunch of people in the face and I’m very anti-face-punching, 100% I’m going to go against my principles of not punching the one time to punch that person in the face. They should then, hopefully, understand what their actions were doing to those around them and develop a sense of empathy.

I feel this is as justified as outing Republican politicians who have spent their days in congress making anti-LGBT+ legislation and spending their evenings with rentboys.
