They had to name it capitalism and economy fest?
I mean, the games mentioned really are games about being a capitalist, right?
Kind of wish there was some worker coop games for running businesses actually.
Thats a great idea. I watched a documentary about alcohol, alcoholism and the alcohol industry and every 2 minutes I went like „its all just capitalism, isn’t it?“
Like the stuff we see in these games is all about the fun side, getting stuff done in the most efficient way, automating etc.
But in the real world, its more about keeping new companies from entering the market, closing off as much of your market share to others as possible and exploiting vulnerabilities in every system you can find. Influencing customers and politicians by any means necessary and weaseling your way around getting regulated, as if the stuff you sell wasnt just making you rich.
The most impressive feat was bringing binge drinking to africa and making a country (nigeria) that has abstinence of 50% drink more than the other countries by employing hookers to fuck alcohol into peoples heads. They even had a former boardmember of heineken (I think) to corroborate the story.
Its so disturbingly absurd that I haven’t really grasped all of it yet. But managing simulations are not the „capitalism“ that we live in cuttently.
