EXCLUSIVE: There is a new writer at the helm of Peacock’s long-gestating reboot of the popular sci-fi franchise Battlestar Galactica.
Geez, The last reboot was so good and pretty recent.
Yeah, it isn’t like they can reboot into a dark and gritty version and improve on the writing, casting, or directing.
So, what are they going to do with it? I’m down for a vibe closer to the original show, keep it old school sci-fi, just with a bit more modernized scope of relationships maybe. They could even go the route where it’s super close to the writing style of the original, but then what would be the point when the original is a seminal sci-fi TV series?
I just hope they don’t fuck it up too bad
One of the biggest things you’ll likely see is acting styles that are more “modern”, set pieces that are more modern and maybe an acting style that is less “sci-fi channel”.
It WAS very good but it also was very “low budget movie made for TV” levels of production quality at times.
