Let’s not forget the post-WW1 famines. Granted, I doubt anybody could have done much better on that score given the events of 1917, but that sure as hell was “associated” with him.

Classic genocide deniers. “Oh it never happened, but if it did that’s cool anyway cause it’s not THAT big a deal.”

    Tankies suck.

Most of these people are legitimately teenagers going through an edgy little anarchist phase. You don’t have to talk to them for very long before you realize they have basically zero knowledge of political science, philosophy, or history beyond the handful of socialist pamphlets they’ve read. Most of them can’t even be bothered to read Jacobin because the fan service isn’t gratuitous enough.

I don’t think one needs to be well versed in political science or philosophy to understand that genocide is bad. I don’t have hope for these individuals if they can’t (or choose not to) see that.

Well, not really disagreeing generally, but you are not showing much knowledge of “political science, philosophy, or history” yourself by calling it an “anarchist phase”, as the political ideology of Anarchism is literally the opposite of what the typical tankie believes.

Well my entire point was that they express ideologically shallow positions which are not internally consistent.

Thinking Lenin is punk rock is exactly the phase I’m imagining.
