Further, there is some manner of saved data transference from Final Fantasy VII Remake to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but it isn’t all-encompassing. Instead, “certain portions are carried over.”

    Well, that is some bullshit.

This is a remake of a single game, and I at least would expect saves to fully transfer.

Honestly in ten years I want to play a directors cut version that merges all three games back together and cuts out all the extra junk. The pacing is totally off in this new version, and the ending of part 1 was utterly bonkers.

I liked the new pacing. There was time to get to know Biggs, Wedge and Jessie better.

At first I thought you meant between original FFVII and the remake and I’m like… That’s a little unreasonable. But they’re stretching one game across a bunch and only saving bits and pieces?

I thought there were no save transfers. That’s why I didn’t bother with the extras! There’s that optional VR mega boss I didn’t finish. I guess I’d give it another try if it carried into the next game

Cause those were the only reasons to play the 2nd act of the OG game…

They’re different games, the new one is a sequel to the OG, so they’re not a direct comparison.

I mean I genuinely love remake for what it is. I never wanted a straight up rehash of the original cause I could just play the original, which I do almost biannually. I don’t know why you’re so butthurt that someone else can also like the new ones.

Does the story line go as far as Icicle Inn? I thought they were going to end rebirth at City of the Ancients. I have a feeling they’re going to make the new FF7 at least four games since the first one didn’t even make it to the flashback.

Nah console. I just hated most of the mandatory mini games in OG FFVII. And there were a lot of them.

I didn’t know that. I hated them on console even with speed up for tower defense. With how many mini-games that game had, that sounds unbearable on PC.

The tower defense part was legitimately one of my favorite parts of the original game. 🤣

FF7 continues to be one of the greatest games of all time and I suspect the FF7R series will continue its path of being totally fine but mostly unremarkable
