    That reminds me there was a site that listed appliances by their outer dimensions that I used before and what stores/sites carry the models listed. I have to find that again for a friend that is moving soon.

        Canada but it could help others looking for the same type of service. I think it was https://www.canadianappliance.ca the theme seems different from how I remember but it let’s you filter the results with individual width, depth, and height sliders. I found the model there and we bought it from Leon’s which seems to be part of the brick, and had the lowest price in my area.

    When we were on COVID lockdown, I was ordering almost all our groceries online. I was pretty good about looking at the sizes of things when it was something I was used to finding in different sizes, but I had some big screwups with things that I was used to seeing always the same size. Like margarine usually comes in a 15 ounce tub, and I bought a 5 pound tub that looked exactly the same in the picture. Similarly I bought a bottle of champagne that looked normal but turned out to be a single serving.

    I’m glad I didn’t have to buy any appliances - that would be a much worse mistake.

    Happened to me…it was a clock that looked huge… turns out it was modeled against a doll house… it was smaller than my palm…lol

        Hmm I looked at random mini fridge and regular fridge on the home Depot app. The mini was $35 to operate and the regular was $85. This isn’t scientific or anything but I would expect most mini fridges to be cheaper to operate than the full size.

          Not saying they aren’t but usually not to the point that you would think. For a few reasons, mini fridges are usually lower quality. So less insulation and lower quality parts. Also due to the cube square law they have more surface area relative to volume. So they lose more heat.
