    This is Georgia the country, not Georgia the US state. Apparently parents would be told that their baby had died. People who bought the babies (claim that they) didn’t know that the babies were stolen. The two sisters in the article were never told that they were adopted but they figured it out because they’re identical twins. Supposedly baby-stealing isn’t going on anymore, but of course no one has been held criminally responsible.

      Speaking of Georgia there was an American named Georgia Tann that kidnapped babies and sold them to wealthy families. She’s attributed to creating the modern adoption system.

      She’s also a massive pedophile!

      I’m sure the monsters purchasing literal human babies are really sad to hear they were stolen. Jesus.

        I can believe that they thought they were paying a bribe in order to adopt a baby that really was orphaned or abandoned. In a place where bribery is commonplace, people often have to pay bribes even for something (someone?) that is otherwise entirely legal.
