I’m in Season 2 of my rewatch of SG1 and Christopher Judge’s acting gets me every time. Seeing Teal’c with O’Neill’s personality is just so weird and jarring. What’s everyone’s favorite episode when the actor has to be someone different? Either a swap or like when Jack is inhabited by the organisms from the bioluminescent time capsule thing.

Not precisely the same, since it isn’t a main cast actor, but the episode ‘Fragile Brilliance’ with the teenaged clone of Jack O’Neill (played by Michael Welch) is always fun. I think he did a great job of playing a frustrated Jack stuck in a kid body.

The Farscape parody in the late season episode 200 always cracks me up.

Oh man, I haven’t seen the later seasons since finishing Farscape so I don’t know that I caught that! Now I can’t wait, Farscape is probably the only show tied with SG 1 for me in my all time favorites

Seasons 9 and 10 are already affectionately known as Fargate because of the main cast additions, and then there’s the episode 200 where they’re pitching different TV stories and one of them is basically Farscape, and the actors who came over from Farscape are specifically not playing the same characters they did in the show, it’s just fantastically meta!

I believe the episode name is Lifeboat (or something similar) - the one where Daniel is used to house consciousnesses of crew on a crashed ship who’s bodies are long dead - always gets me. The way he acts as the little kid is heartbreaking - and then going straight for the arogant monarch without missing a beat. Masterful.

I absolutely love Michael Shanks! Daniel Jackson was my favorite character for most of my first watch. I can’t wait to get to that one, definitely one of the ones where the actor really gets to flex his skills.
