Wasn’t much to look at, but it tasted pretty alright! I felt bad for the servers though. They were all children who clearly had zero food service experience, and were very nervous.

Sorry I should have specified. It’s a 6oz beef tenderloin, sautéed garlic spinach, Jasmine rice, and a like creamy shrimp casserole. Obviously I could do better on my own, but the sides were spot on (although the spinach was a tad too oily), and the medium rare cook on the beef was perfect (even though it’s the ugliest beef tenderloin I have ever seen in my life). I was invited to the restaurant by my father for my mother’s birthday. That meal was $28 and was a special.

Good amount of blood left by the steak. Collards look good. That casserole thing looks decent with a golden-brown crust. The only thing I have to say is that those potatoes look like school-cafateria instant barf-tatoes. It’s not hard to take fresh taters and throw em in a mixer and add a bit of milk and butter.

Edit: I see now that it is mac and cheese! Looks good. Very Southern meal. I would have enjoyed!

I think that’s spinach. Stems aren’t as thick and they seem to be full leaves rather than chopped.

If they were collards, and that color, I’d have to wonder what went wrong. Collards start darker, and the braising needed to get them right amplifies that, or turns them a bit more of an olive tone

Mind you, it was yankees cooking, so no telling what they did ;)
