The article in question, heavily recommend everyone to read it one of the journalistic masterpieces of our time.

    Some quotes:

In late November, as the civilian death toll in Gaza climbed, Israel was struggling to retain its dominance of the narrative. Global demands for a ceasefire were mounting, and even some of Israel’s allies were expressing horror at the indiscriminate killing of women and children and the worsening humanitarian catastrophe.

It was at this moment that the Israeli government decided it needed to remind the world of Israel’s victimhood and launched a new phase of the hasbara campaign. It began accusing the international community of standing silent in the face of what Israeli officials described as a widespread campaign of rape and sexual violence

From the earliest moments following the October 7 attacks, Israel charged that women had been raped by Hamas fighters

To date, there has been no credible evidence presented publicly that such a campaign took place

There was no Holocaust survivor killed at Kibbutz Be’eri that day. There were no mass beheadings of babies, no group executions in a nursery, no children hung from clotheslines, and no infants placed in ovens. No pregnant woman had her stomach cut open and the fetus knifed in front of her and her other children. These stories are entirely fictional, a set of audacious lies weaponized to generate the type of collective rage used to justify the unjustifiable.

Holy moly. That article is full of citations. Yet it’s “editorial content”?

Let me make the point much more succintly: there’s a large difference between different incidents of sexual violence and all of these crimes being part of an organized campaign. An article claiming that those crimes are part of an organized campaign without evidence is opinion, or at the very best analysis, not news.

That is indeed a good description which clearly makes the article an opinion piece.

It is still important to mention that aside from it clearly not being a “mass rape campaign”, there was not a single rape-accusation with evidence and “witness testimonies” have been fully debunked by israeli media investigations present in the article.

Meh, I get comments removed for things like “pointing out supporting Ukraine and Israel is hypocritical” and “pointing out Israeli politicians are saying things LITERAL NAZIS said during and leading to the holocaust”

Mods and admins are perfectly okay with supporting genocide as long as their government tells them it’s okay.

Yes though that’s a temp 3 day one, and my post did get restored (while I’m banned)

I’m not sure if the worldnews ban was intentional. Might have been Zionists mass reporting my posts and me receiving an auto ban for 3 days.

          Worldnews still seems okay

I would like to clarify that this wasn’t removed by an admin. The post in case was removed by a mod, and the mods of that particular community are at this moment discussing to what extend the rules should be taken literally.

I am not sure why you are angry at us (the admins), but if it’s anything I can help with feel free to reach out.

They’re also fantastic protestors! Remember that time they protested Reddit by… Checks notes… Continuing to use Reddit exactly as much as they did before the protest. And then when they didn’t get what they wanted they… Checks notes… Kept using Reddit exactly as much as they did before the protest. Truly an inspiring display of sticking it to the man!

Can you say what instance this was removed from?

PS: Maybe it’s because the title on the browser tab doesn’t match the main headline?

Oh if you search for “Israel’s Ruthless Propaganda Campaign to Dehumanize Palestinians” you can find it. But I didn’t find it searching for “Netanyahu’s War on Truth” or by searching for the url.

      From /news

It was the title generated by Lemmy itself, and it was removed for “not being news” but “an editorial”.

Even though it contains many new important facts which are complete news to most lemmings, seeing as the rape propaganda still gets repeated here daily.

Real news is apparently fast-food getting more expensive and whatever Donald Trump, Taylor Swift and Elon Musk had for breakfast yesterday.

Just to defend the modding team, the post wasn’t removed for the subject, but because it could be considered an opinion article. Not all mods agree on this point, and we are having a discussion on what should fall under rule 6. If you disagree with other posts, you should report it.

Just to entirely debunk that defense: I have reported the original fictional propaganda piece “screams without words” from the New York Times on /news and it did not get removed

          It is still up here

Fake propaganda rape stories to manufacture consent for Genocide are allowed but articles debunking it by linking to sources from major Israeli newspapers and IDF evidence are apparently “opinion pieces”.

A two-month investigation by The Times uncovered painful new details, establishing that the attacks against women were not isolated events but part of a broader pattern of gender-based violence on Oct. 7.

Relying on video footage, photographs, GPS data from mobile phones and interviews with more than 150 people, including witnesses, medical personnel, soldiers and rape counselors, The Times identified at least seven locations where Israeli women and girls appear to have been sexually assaulted or mutilated.

You’ve been repeatedly shown to be dishonest in promoting your preferred narrative. An absurd amount of your time on here is spent desperately trying to “debunk” this single article with anything you can find. Proven propaganda articles, authors who publish for an authoritarian regime’s propaganda channels, you really don’t care where. And, no, this Intercept editorial that repeats the Mondoweiss claims but conveniently fails to mention that the family in question says they are untrue doesn’t “debunk” it either. Notably, it’s been ten days but Mondoweiss still hasn’t issued a correction or a retraction. I wonder why.

That NYT article is written by a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist (for conflict zone reporting). It’s written for a paper that routinely corrects errors. In spite of months of effort and additional reporting, there it is without a single major correction.

You’re right I’m wasting far too much time on dishonest and bad faith trolls which repeat the same propaganda no matter how often they are debunked.

The family still denies it so you are also just lying. The NYT special.

Gettleman is about to go to Colombia University that gives Pullitzer prizes. The same university that banned pro Palestinian students from protesting. He’s gonna grift an anti rape speech with Hilary Clinton.

This article from The Intercept provides all the evidence needed. Go read it if you aren’t a troll else good bye.

This is pretty much whataboutism, so I don’t think it’s very productive to go into that.

As mentioned we are working on setting clearer rules to make sure we get a more standardized response to opinion pieces.

Whataboutism is using irrelevant examples. As my example pertains directly to the argument of “using the report button” it is very relevant because it examplifies selective enforcement of the rules.

In any case I am glad the mod team is trying to work out more consistent rules. If I might bring a suggestion I would ask to focus less on the source of an article and more on whether the claims in the article have proper sourcing and evidence.

We know all too well that every initial article debunking the fraudulent NYT propaganda was swiftly deleted for “not being credible on the MBFC site”. Which is ran by one dude with obvious biases but somehow gets treated like the Bible.

Thanks. Well it seems to be in news now. Unfortunately it’s not too upvoted, but it’s a very long article. I’ve been hearing some of this the last few weeks and I’m pretty pissed about all this too. Actually I’m ashamed of my country for making us complicit in this.
