Sure, but Trump’s followers won’t notice and if they do, they won’t care. Because Trump’s word is law. Even if it contradicts standard Republican dogma. They just hold Trump’s contradiction and the dogma in their head at the same time and pretend there isn’t a dissonance.

Oh I definitely agree, but sometimes you gotta appreciate the little things.
Trump’s words are law, except when he contradicts himself. Then he’s just joking. Or it’s a genius plan. One of those. Or both.
Or the contradiction never happened because he never said the first thing. Or both things are true.
These people aren’t rational.
