Do we believe in the Palestinian people’s right to choose?

Or in a modern version of colonialism, are we going to choose for them?

Either they get their two state solution, legitimise the PNA, build up their national defence, or they continue to support Hamas, i.e Iranian oligarchs, and are juxtaposed into an anti-western sentiment that does not help Palestinians at all, but that helps to legitimise Iran’s use and abuse of Palestine and Palestinian people.

So yeah, let’s be against Iranian colonization of Palestine, against Isreali colonization of Palestine, and pro-PNA, and eventually, anti-Hamas as well as anti-IDF, as Palestine needs to be free of all geo-political players.

I hope that’s what you meant.

    Anyone except Israel or Hamas.

Unfortunately, Israel has put great effort into reducing the options to those two choices.

Uh… the article seems to have a very… simple view of the situation on the ground.

The article asks for neither. You should read it.

The article suggests it’s as simple as putting up a few conditions for aid, and finding people ‘outside’ of the traditional power structures to lead. That’s not realistic, as past conditions for aid have shown, and as attempts to impose new power structures on societies from external pressure show.

I think the West Bank should be given statehood separate to Gaza. Any Israeli settlers in the West Bank, other than in Jerusalem, should be given the choice of returning to Israel proper or fend for themselves.

Gaza should be run by the UN for a few years until they have the infrastructure in place to govern themselves. No Muslim countries nor Israel, the US or Russia should be involved in rebuilding what is left of Gaza. My personal suggestion would be South American, Nordic or Central European countries. Hamas should have no place in Gaza going forwards.

Something I consider important for the future of the strip is gaining a fully functional bureaucracy that is able to support them as a nation. To many post colonial countries, specifically in Africa were left unable to become stable democracies because they slide too easily into violent factions.

Iran. That way, if missiles fly out of Gaza, Israel can just declare war on Iran instead of all this proxy war bs.
