    I’ve been many times.

Bear in mind, Russia is the country, not the people.

The country is actively and purposefully destabilising multiple countries and are basically terrorists at this point

You can say exactly the same thing about the US

Would you judge a US citizen by their country’s actions?

Just try announcing you’re a westerner in deepest darkest Russia. I recommend brushing up on your vodka skills because you’ll be dragged from house to house like a celebrity and fed until you burst

No, nowhere near exactly the same. The US does bad stuff, sure, but “good” and “bad” are not absolute binary states that you instantly jump between the moment you lean one way or the other. There’s a smooth scale and Russia’s way farther down it than the US is.

You’re arguing as if they had said Russia and the US are morally the same; what they actually said was that they are guilty of the same aforementioned crimes.

The [US] is actively and purposefully destabilising multiple countries and are basically terrorists at this point

Tell me how that sentence is wrong.

And if someone thinks the above comment is wrong, you are victim of the exact same propaganda that makes Russians support Putin. Just on the western side.

I wasn’t addressing that statement. I explicitly agreed that the US is doing bad things. The statement I was addressing was where they were called “exactly the same.” I quoted it in my comment to avoid this sort of misinterpretation.

You are the one misinterpreting a statement here, by insinuating that the OP’s assertion of “exactly the same” was referring to Russia and US as a whole. It wasn’t, and so the point you’re arguing against is one that OP never made.

Why are you so completely confident that your take on OP’s statement is correct and my take on OP’s statement is wrong? You’re not Mr_Blott.

Because I’m just interpreting the statement as it was written while you are reading an additional argument into it that the comment plainly does not make. I suggest you brush up on argumentation theory if that is too difficult for you to understand

Didn’t USA invade Irak to get these juicy weapon of mass destruction ?? And in the process destabilised middle Eastern and led to the creation of ISIS ? Didn’t just recently they sold lots of weapon to Israel to kill 28000 Palestinian while the American people was against it but had no say, not even the Congress. Hell they even invaded Afghanistan, just like Soviet (ex Russia) did 20 years before.

I mean comparing USA to Russia isn’t far stretched. Sure you don’t get propaganda as obvious as in Russia, but it’s no less effective. Check Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media by Chomsky for instance (hint: this isn’t some conspirationist Lunatic).

Real issue is people not realising their own government isn’t perfect, to say the last, and only focusing on others.
