    Cause there ain’t one.

They absolutely lost a sale here on DD2 with that bullshit. It’s pure greed and I won’t support it lest ALL games end up with the cesspit of mtx that (almost) every online game has these days.

Maybe I’m missing something but it looks like it is about watching some streams to get some items that don’t affect the game.

How is that similar to making people spend money (often exploiting predispositions to gambling addiction)?

Once you’ve watched the required amount of time during the relevant periods, or gifted the subs required for the sniper rifle, you’ll see a pop up to tell you and you can claim whatever you’ve earned from your Twitch drop inventory here.

To claim the Yasha sniper rifle you will need to gift an eligible Twitch partner two Twitch subscriptions of any tier.

Spend money on our partnership to receive “free” in game guns. They made content, you need to pay to receive, ie a microtransaction.

This is a bit misleading as the weapons have been added to the game for free after the initial time gated event was finished.

Ah yes, defend them for making a microtransaction And lying about them not belonging.

It’s not misleading, if I’m misleading they are too my saying what they are about microtransactions, they’ve done it previously.

They will keep doing this, and lying about it, since their fans will just excuse them and try to convince others for them. Give your head a shake lmfao.

All the twitch weapons like yasha and pit bull have been added to the Dogtown airdrops with 2.1 and if you miss a drop you can buy it from Herold in game.

So it’s okay since it’s now free? It sounds like you’re trying to excuse and defend the microtransactions they’ve made before. Did they or did they not have content that you had to pay to access?

Not op, but honestly… I’m a patient gamer, I usually play game years after it releases, so in this case I wouldn’t even know about it.

But there are games where the first thing I see after launching it is an ad for some cosmetic bullshit, half the main menu consist of just links to real life money shop, load screens are just another ad for cut content, etc.

So all in all I would say these are different things. Although I agree paywall anything in single player is bad even when it’s time limited. Not counting regular DLC (data discs or expansions as we used to call those before internet).

“Micro” always implies something very small, which is what was intended. Oblivion came out with its 400-point (£3.40?) cost for horse armour and received a lot of backlash. It wasn’t micro, and was the beginning of all of this nonsense. Luckily that didn’t result in it being harder to play but the writing was on the wall. I’ve fallen out of love with big titles, which I’ll either play on game pass or pirate (I would buy them if they were worth it, or run well on my Mac if I really like them).

I don’t know where the term micro came from because $20 skins are not a “microtransaction”. Hell the $4 microcontrollers I just bought from Aliexpress weren’t a microtransaction. “Micro” makes me think in the sub-$1 range or so.

The idea was sold as being one whereby we would pay pennies/cents for a skin someone had designed, yet it’s turned into dollars (tens or hundreds of) instead, with giants taking huge advantage of us.

No microtransactions in TW3, but you do need to sign in to get the armor of 1000 flowers.
