    It’s even more fun because the US has corruption and lobbying. It’s like double dipping but for politicians.

    There’s an argument that lobbying is not corruption and helps people pass legislation that is important to them but I don’t know how to make it.

      Lobbying is just the act of sending someone that knows how to talk to a legislator to a legislator. Banning lobbying would effectively be banning citizens from speaking to politicians, and that’s objectively stupid. Right to repair advocate Louis Rossman has effectively used lobbying to get legislation passed in multiple states

    Corruption is far more obvious, predictable, and hence navigable than lobbying. I’d rather my country have corruption than lobbying.

      Lobbying is only for the rich and at top level shit. You want to ruin the environment but its illegal? Just pay them to change the law.

      Corruption can however be used by all levels of individuals. You want to build a pool but cant get a permit? Just slip some money with the paperwork and enjoy your pool. Thats just fair
