i’m not from the US, but i think those numbers should be nowhere as important as they are and it shouldn’t be a problem having them leaked. for some reason they became almost as sesitive as a password. that’s the actual problem. other countries have credit checks too and don’t require such a number for that. some countries don’t even number their citizens at all and still they can do normal business.
