To me the golden period went through Seventh Son. The next album, No Prayer for the Dying, was distinctly not as good. They seemed to get a concept back for Fear of the Dark but it still didn’t have that zing. Their albums since then have managed to be consistently decent at least.

Powerslave was the last album of their golden era, IMHO. Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son were all right, but it wasn’t the same.
