Hey-ho!

My girlfriend has an iPhone, and she is using Spotify free thingy

I’m using Jellyfin and very very happy (except my favorite client is unmaintained)

I suggested her that I can download all the music she might ever need, she said cool. But also, in case if she needs to find something rare or listen just one time, etc, what options can I setup for her(with no ads, and other bs)

P.S. is there YouTube with no ads?

For YouTube there’s Yattee. Bit of a pain to setup but works really well and it’s even in the AppStore somehow.

    No idea about Spotify though.

Well, if you don’t link an instance, it won’t work. And you need to know the instances’ name (some of them don’t support account creation, which you’ll need if you want to import your YouTube’s subscriptions).

So, compared to a normal app, like NewPipe where you install it and it just works, they are not wrong on saying that it’s s a bit of a pain.

I default to safari with an adblocker for YouTube and bought the sponsorblock extension so can autoskip stuff too.

I prefer to use Vinegar, instead of the adblocker, alongside SponsorBlock and DeArrow (⌐■_■)

I think you may try sideloading these apps:

For YouTube: uYouPlus A mod YouTube app with SponsorBlock.

For Spotify: Spotube An open-source app that you can connect with your Spotify account, and it reproduces the music from YouTube (without ads)

I hope it helps you :)

Is side loading possible outside of EU?

Sorry, I’m not really following iOS myself, what options of side loading are possible these days?

Yes, it is. You may want to sideload using Sideloadly, it has a guide you can follow easily.

The only cons with sideloading is that you must refresh the apps every 7 days (which is not difficult).

          • Automatic app refreshing. Sideloadly will automatically refresh your apps every few days to prevent them from expiring! NEW!

What are the extra features more than the “Low contrast mode” and “No heatwaves” (which I really don’t know what are their function.)

Does spotify not serve ads from their own domains? I know i’ve noticed more stuff getting through my pihole and when i check the admin panel both the actual video and the ads are being served from the same domain a lot of times.

Not sure if it’s available for iOS, but RiMusic is excellent. It’s a YouTube Music frontend so it has a lot of the music you’d want.

For YouTube on ios with no ads I would use youtube in the Brave Browser or Firefox Focus.

No ad spotify? I don’t think so unless you do the whole cracked Testflight app thing but those things require a renewal every week and it gets annoying. Perhaps Spotify in the browser on desktop mode?

There is no free ad free Spotify on IOS to my knowledge. I recommend Brave browser for ad free YT/YTM/Soundcloud with offline playback. Or Yattee for just YouTube. Another option is the Swisscows search engine which has a integrated ad free music (probably also uses ytm)

I don’t understand this sentence. I don’t believe that you can’t pay for Spotify on IOS. Do you mean there’s no free ad-free Spotify?

Right. I mean Spotify is a business. Why would there even be an expectation for free ad-free Spotify?

Spotify is all music on the go. Certainly for albums or music you want to keep on your device, it’s the arrs, but for music, especially playlists, you listen to on the fly, Spotify is a better experience.

There are multiple third-party YT clients that simply don’t load the ads, so why not for spotify

We’re talking about an unofficial app that has been modified to allow premium features for free.
