A BBC investigation finds many sellers giving false information about the laws around e-scooters.
This is maddening on so many levels.
Firstly, shame on these companies. Shut them down and fine the owners into bankruptcy.
Second, shame on the parent for not doing their due diligence before purchasing an e-scooter for their kid. Double-shame for buying one for an 11-year-old.
Lastly, shame on the UK for such draconian, out-of-touch requirements for these things. It’s as if they are actively trying to make it as inconvenient as possible for anyone to use anything other than a car. Even their ebike laws are rubbish.
