I’m sorry if my response came across like that. I intended my repy to mean like (former) east Germany, many regions too face a growing threat from far-right, nazis, and fascists. Leaders, lawmakers, and citizens need to wake up & take steps to safeguard their democracies before the danger become reality.
India is a good example. It was a thriving progressive democracy till people voted fascists, with a history of communal violence and ethnic oppression, to power in 2014. Had any of the governments before 2014 been awake & taken steps to stomp down on Hindu supremacism, we’d not be seeing the 85th consecutive day of ethnic & communal genocide taking place in Maniput today.
Oh, I wasn’t trying to be confrontational. You’re right; it’s a broad and growing problem. But the article is about Germany.
