I thought it already had lying down mode. That’s something I wanted to have in VR from day one. More so now that I’m bedridden. Of course they started adding that right after they stopped improving my Quest 1. And of course there is no way for us to add such a simple feature ourselves.
What would a fully open product look like for you? Is the lynx-r1 good enough? I don’t think others are focusing on open source other then a full diy kit.

Quest 2 and pro had it since the previous update, Q3 got it with this one.
That sucks. The Quest One was such a bummer in how it was under powered. I hope you can upgrade.

Yes, it would be good enough. I hate Android but it’s hard to find something not running it. If I had the money I might consider buying it.
Meta really should have a trade-in program. But Q2 is quite cheap currently and hopefully the rumored Q3 S/Light will be in a similar price range.
