Hey all, first time posting here. Just a heads up there is someone going around with 3 accounts all named after insulting the mods just posting transphobic, racist, and sexist Facebook tier “memes”. If you want to avoid them, they’re mostly in new as time of writing.

Nice, superb. Now they just need to delete the posts. The accounts already show up as “banned”.

Yea hopefully, if mods are reading this your free labor does not go unnoticed, thanks for keeping Lemmy tolerable (´・ω・`)

E: I’m surprised and thankful no one is taking the bait and commenting, don’t give the shit what he wants.

Big issue is it can take time for the deleted comments to sync across instances. So others will see them for a day or so after it’s already been removed.

Hmm, I can’t believe that. Usually it doesn’t take long for me. Ocassionally I see some spam or hateful posts in my feed. And they disappear within minutes.

Lemmy is also finicky about federating certain actions between instances. If you watch the modlog you will sometimes see a user be banned, unbanned, and then immediately rebanned. That’s a mod or admin trying to get content removal to federate out to other instances.

That happened in the case of the spammer here ~3 hours ago. Their content was removed from their home instance but it stayed up in this community. It’s gone now, though.
