Tesla was dealing with 2,000 cases a week amid a surge in driving-range complaints from frustrated customers, report says /::Elon Musk’s EV company aimed to shut down customer complaints about driving range, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
Sue the shit out of them. Class-action lawsuit. A few billion dollars from Musk’s endless fortune. They’re blatantly lying, then shutting down thousands of complaints.
Tesla don’t get to decide how they rate their mileage - they have to follow the EPA testing procedure. If they use any figure other than the EPA figure, they’ll be breaking the law.
The fact that the EPA testing procedure doesn’t match real-world conditions is the problem. And it’s not one Tesla can solve.
Sue the EPA then. I hate deception and honestly everyone should.
Bro, get off the internet and touch some grass. You’re so desperate to be angry at someone that you’re not even understanding the issue.
There’s no “deception”. The EPA has a standardised test, which is an approximation of the average American driver. Every car follows exactly the same test, so you can get a fair comparison between vehicles. If you drive in worse conditions than average (high speeds, hot temperatures) you’re going to get worse mileage than the standardised test.
With ICE vehicles no one really measured their fuel economy, they just filled up when necessary. But with EVs, new owners are anxious about range, and it’s very easy to see what you’re getting, so people think they’ve been short-changed.
