Yep, because the point was for Abbott and his goons to flex their authoritarian muscles and chill free speech, not win any cases.

Just look at how they frame the protests as “antisemitic,” while welcoming literal Nazis and antisemitic conspiracy theorists into their fascist folds—as if they don’t know that criticism of the IDF ≠ hatred of Jews.

At least we have some small comfort that lower-level judges tend to live in reality, instead of GOP Conspiracy Land.

The arrests are not meant for cases, they’re an intimidation tactic.

This is a bleak comment -

If someone had just claimed to be holding elementary school kids at gun point in a nearby, unlocked room, then TxDPS and all the cops and border patrol would have left the area alone.

Boot that piece of shit Governor and every single authority involved out for fuck sake. I grew up in Austin, went to UT Austin both undergrad and grad, then left because Texas is a Republican nightmare. What a fucking embarrassment this whole thing has been on the world stage

My brother is a UT grad and he’s furious about the whole situation. I am too, but he really feels betrayed because it’s supposed to be a safe place for free speech.
