Legit though, once you get past the silliness, a lot of juggalos are pretty good company. Never had any kind of trouble with them, back when I still did a little bouncing and security work as a side gig. They were always very respectful and friendly.

Yeah, any group has assholes, and the music itself is pretty meh, but you’d think that the whole insane clown vibe would draw more assholes than what I ran into. Also, one of the most inclusive fandoms I’ve run across.

This is the exact opposite experience I’ve had. My area has (had, at least) an unusually high Juggalo population in the mid 2000’s.

I have never met a more violent, bigoted, ignorant, petty, and hypocritical bunch of people in my life. For all the talk about being “all family,” they sure do like inventing trivial shit to beef about constantly, and then accuse each other of not being “real” Juggalos. If you get more than two of them in one place, a fight is guaranteed to break out eventually. If it’s not over drugs or somebody’s girlfriend, it’s some manner of asinine doctrinal shit, like their taste in shitty music is an actual religion or something. And that’s before they even start fucking with outsiders.

Well, I suppose any group with assholes (which is every group) is bound to have areas where the proportion of assholes to the rest gets higher.

Could also be rural vs urban vs suburban areas applying different social pressures that drive individuals into seeking that kind of artificial “family”.

And, once you have a threshold of assholes, that by itself encourages others in a group to either be assholes too, or get pushed out, leaving the group itself to draw in assholes to replace them.
