Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus met with Darryl George, the student suspended from the Barbers Hill Independent School District, Watson Coleman said. “For months, Darryl George has been denied a high school education, because he wears his hair in locs. He’s worn his hair that way for years without an issue, but his family moved to a predominantly white school district and they decided that his locs” were out of step with the dress code.
