That’s not the only problem. It’s also the disproportionate number of part-time positions in order to minimize benefits provided and maximize team attendance and reliability. It’s exploitative, and will continue at any minimum wage until legislation inhibits the practice.

$15 an hour is $600 a week at 40 hours.

    $31,200 a year pre-tax.

Those people were struggling BEFORE inflation hit 9%, now it’s another 3.5% on top of 3% on top of that 9%.

The lowest paying job for any Amazon owned company is $15/hr, but the average is $20/hr.

      Good advice, terribly stated.

This is the comment I’d expect to see in the dictionary under “victim blaming”.

ever heard of munchausen syndrome? at this point it’s hard to feel sorry for anyone that doesn’t know what to expect when signing up for an amazon job.

People are desperate, the economy is shit and if you turn down any job in some areas of America you’ll become ineligible for food assistance and Medicaid.

Yea, I’m fucking with you on wishing they’d unionize but these workers are probably in a really unstable place in their lives and I can sympathize that they’re hesitant to rock the boat - you should also take into account that there’s a good chance they’re not familiar with their rights as employees or how effective unions are.

It’s pretty nice never being desperate for work in your life. Not everyone is so lucky though.
